Thomas Jefferson knew because he himself studied the previous failed attempts at government. He understood actual history, the nature of God, his laws and the nature of man. That happens to be way more than what most understand today. Jefferson really knew his stuff. A voice from the past to lead us in the future:

John F. Kennedy held a dinner in the white House for a group of the brightest minds in the nation at that time. He made this statement: “This is perhaps the assembly of the most intelligence ever to gather at one time in the White House with the exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone.”

“When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe .”
— Thomas Jefferson

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”
— Thomas Jefferson

“It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.”
— Thomas Jefferson

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
— Thomas Jefferson

“My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.”
— Thomas Jefferson

“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”
— Thomas Jefferson

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”
— Thomas Jefferson

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
— Thomas Jefferson

“To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”
— Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.

If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property – until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

Because after all, Republicans have controlled Chicago for years, right?

You really have to marvel at the stupidity…

President Barack Obama’s adopted hometown of Chicago hasn’t elected a Republican mayor since 1927, but in the eyes of CNN regular and Democratic strategist Robert Zimmerman, the rampant violence currently plaguing the city is the fault of the Republican Party.

On Friday’s broadcast of “CNN Newsroom,” Zimmerman, Politics 365 contributor Jason Johnson and CNN contributor Ana Navarro were discussing a joint effort by former NBA star Isiah Thomas and Democratic Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to curb the city’s gang violence, when Zimmerman shifted the focus to congressional Republicans.

“[L]et’s be very clear about what’s happening in Washington today, and why it’s undermining the city of Chicago — because there’s a mindset now in our government, in Washington, from the Republican members of Congress, that sequestration is an acceptable way of doing business…

Are we learning what God is teaching

23 Feb

I’m really not an Old Testament buff.  To me the Old Testament is there to validate the New Testament for the ‘born again’ Christian.  However, I have been reading the prophets again.  I wanted to see why this loving God we serve go so upset with His chosen people.  Of course the first thing was Idolatry.  After that it seems it is just the way they lived.  They lived for me and my pleasures.  Other people were suffering, but that was just the way it is.  If I can win I will even if it is to the distress of the poor.  Justice is whatever works out to get others out of my mind or at least out of my site.

Sound familiar; well it should.  IT IS US.

We Christians complain about the criminals and the working and non-working poor, and say, “These people are trying to take advantage of us, so let us not worry about their wellbeing.”  Let us examine why they might be the way they are.

What do they think about every day?  They think about survival, and the ones that are Christians wonder why they are having such a hard time in this free land the Lord gave us.  Most think they should follow the thinking of the church and the government.

First let us examine the Christian church.  Most of the churches in these United States have given the responsibility of seeing to the needs of the poor to the government.  The government accepted the responsibility.  Our government hasn’t protected the poor for a long time.  For instance as I point out in my book “God’s Agenda vs Man’s Agenda” “In 1909 the arrested workers of the New York Shirtwaist Strike of 1909 were told by a judge that they were on a strike against God.”  In this section of the book I point out several instances that shows they supposed leaders of the country didn’t care at all about the poor or oppressed.

The prophets talked about the fact that people were not paid a fair wage.  I would assume that means a wage they could at least survive economically.  I dare anyone that has lived on a wage of $15 an hour or less to attempt to try it on $7.25 an hour.  That is about $14,500 dollars per year.  If you look on this web site http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0774473.html you will notice that this amount has never been a fair amount.  In 1955 the amount was $.75 per hour.  That would have been about $1,500 per year.  This is $30 a week or about $129.00 a month.  At that same time I earned more than that with part time work and was only a junior in high school.  At that same time men were earning $30 per week building homes outside the union.  At that same time workers in the unions and government employees were earning $80 per week. That ratio continues today.

Our all knowing government that represents all the people passes laws that allow those who have to exploit the have-nots.  They pass laws that oppress those that have resorted to criminal activity which further teaches them to survive no matter what happens to others.  At all points in our justice system, especially the Federal government, are always out to win regardless of the facts of the circumstances.  Judges mostly do what the District Attorneys request, and the accursed, in most cases, has to take pleas due to the cost of litigation.

According to the history of the relationship of God and man, we must take the responsibility of begin called Christian seriously and have the church take back the responsibility of distributing the gives to the common storehouse to the ones that need it.  Individually take back the responsibility of being children of God.

The Devil believes in God

22 Feb

Did you know that the Devil believes in God?  That is an interesting thought isn’t it? Believing in God is not the same as Worshiping and Trusting in God.  The Devil as near as I can tell, was there when the universe was created.  Yet he wants us to believe that he, the devil, is all powerful.  He probably is more powerful than man, but he is not more powerful than man with God.  The Devil certainly gets man’s attention, but he is not more powerful than our Sovereign Lord.

The Devil with his use of money and power here on earth entices us to follow the idles he places in front of us like money, power, prestige, and worldly pleasures to get us to follow him which is a way of forcing us to follow him.

The Lord God on the other hand simply says to us that He is God the Creator of heaven and earth, and asks us to accept Him at His word, live a productive life here on earth as he directs and live eternity with him.

If it be His will, I pray today that our nation accept Him, His teachings, and His grace which will lead us back to a relationship with Him that will allow Him to let us continue living free in this country.  Then we can spend eternity in heaven with Him. Amen

Are we following the prayer of Jerimiah

17 Feb

In the 10th Chapter of Jeremiah, Jeremiah offers this prayer after God had told him that the people of Israel were not living their lives as he had instructed before they entered the promise land

Jeremiah’s Prayer

Lord, I know that people’s lives are not their own; it is not for them to direct their steps. Discipline me, Lord, but only in due measure not in your anger, or you will reduce me to nothing.
25 Pour out your wrath on the nations
that do not acknowledge you,
on the peoples who do not call on your name, For they have devoured Jacob; they have devoured him completely and destroyed his homeland

At some point we must consider that we have been given a chance for a wholesome life with riches enough to have time to consider what God has given us to work with in order to bring the world to the Lord as he commanded.  We can start by considering what our God given talents are and how we might use for the good of mankind.  Then we could ask God how he wants us to use those talents for his glory

In order to grow this country’s respect and influence throughout the world we should begin to first move our own lives closer to what God intended us to do.  A big step would be to go back to the six days of labor and one or rest.  Our government supported this even in the Constitution.  We had the “blue law”.  Government business and commercial business was shut down except of necessary things like hospitals, emergency service, police, and emergency repair entities.   I remember in my lifetime that we couldn’t sign a contract on Sunday.  It just would not hold up in a court of law

Today in the United States we have companies working that never shut down.  We do have the hospitals and other institutions that have to work for the safety of others.  We have our military, police and fire fighters, and many other situations where we would at least have to be virulent.  We have some that worship on Sunday and some that worship on Saturday and some that worship on Friday. Can we pick a day of rest and get back to our original beliefs

The Lord God said to the prophets that we do not consider the poor or anyone that assistance from the wealthy.  In those times the religious community which would have been the Israelites or Jewish church that took that responsibility.  In the beginning they did that service for the Lord, but had let that responsibility fall away from their practices.  In the United States it was the Christian Church’s responsibility or the community that should be doing this, but the communities gave that responsibility to the State and Federal Government.  Now the State and Federal Government doesn’t want it any more,

Can the tithes and offerings be better distributed from the State and Local Government and should it be.  Holding a coin in his hand, Jesus said give unto Cesar what belongs to Cesar and give to God what is God’s.  I don’t believe he was talking only about Money, but I could be wrong.

Is there a way to fix this?

I’ll TAke My Bat and Go Home

17 Feb

I am so tired of watching people run this country that are not at all interested in communicating or negotiating.  People make statements that should not be even though let alone made.  I am a President Obama supporter, but when he said we are not a Christian Nation.  My thought was how can you swear to support and defend the Constitution when you don’t even talk like you have read it?  We are a Christian Nation tolerating other methods of worshiping God.  Mr. President, if you don’t believe that then you should resign.

As I have said before I am an Independent.  It is not because I don’t believe in paying your way or supporting the poor.  It is because I have read the Democratic philosophy and the Republican philosophy and have noticed that either party follows their own philosophy.  The Constitution is trampled by both parties and their philosophies (not the Constitution) is upheld by the Supreme Court.

I dealt with people just like the Republican and the Democrats when I was a kid.  These are the kids when we play football or baseball would say, “If you’re not going to play the way I want to play, I’m going to take my ball or bat and go home.”  The other kids would usually win by simply saying to the troublemaker, “we all have to play by the same rules

Our rule is the Constitution.  Even if you disagree with the Constitution the government electorates and employees have agreed to support it under oath.  Therefore, you don’t have an option to rule only your way.  Our Constitution says that you have to govern together.  It also says majority rule unless you want to change the rules. Then and only then does it take more.  If you can’t govern that way, give up your position. If you can’t communication your position to the representatives that disagree with you and negotiate a compromise for the benefit of all, leave your post and let us elect someone that can.

Some said when the United States was created and the US Constitution was approved, “Now here is your nation if your can hold it.”  The had studied history up to that time and knew that monarchy, tyranny or a pure democracy would not work.  They realized that they could not dictate religion.  They did the best they could under the tutelage of God by using prayer.

I would suggest that all the representatives read the prophets of the Old Testament and see how easily God took away everything from the unbelievers and gave it back just as easily.  Read why he did this.  Mostly it was because of corruption in the church and in the government, but you read it for yourselves.

What is too big to fail?

16 Feb

Elizabeth Warren asked Wall Street regulators today, “Can you identify the last time you took the Wall Street banks to trial?” A lame answer at one time was, “We do not have to bring people to trial.” These regulators think that there really are companies that are too big to be regulated which translates to too big to fail. They seem to believe that these businesses can do as they please no matter what it does to the people. These people are using other people’s money. They have to be regulated. However, let us look at these companies that seem to be too big to be regulated. Let us just look at the top fifty world banks in 2012; http://www.gfmag.com/tools/best-banks/11986-worlds-50-biggest-banks-2012.html#axzz2LB1rHLje

There are eight world banks larger than the largest bank in the United States and only a total of five United States banks that are in the top 50 world banks. Any of those banks in the top fifty can be sanctioned and controlled by world banking authorities. Our banks are nowhere near too big to fail. From the news reporting the media seemed to think that if these banks or members thereof were prosecuted that the bank would take revenge against the United States. That is not what they said, but it was clear from the reporting that they believed it. The media obviously believe in the power of the masses. The customers of these institutions and the voters of the United States [if they take responsibility by electing people to congress like Elizabeth Warren] have much more power than any institution.

OUR COUNTRY CAN NEVER BE SO BIG OR ALLOW ANY TYPE OF CORPORATION INCLUDING BANKS TO GET SO B IG THAT THEY CAN WORNGLY HURT ANY INDIVIDUAL WITH NO CONSEQUENCE.
